COMPANY: LivingGreenCity (livinggreencity.com)
ROLE: Creative Technologist & Biodesigner.
COLLABORATORS: Manno França, Hugo Wadsworth.
ACTIVITIES:
< > Research, design and development of a full stack Internet of Things (IoT) device, hosted in Amazon Web Services, for sensing water movement and environmental data.
< > The data was used to control, light, air and water systems.
< > The device has a 5X potential increase of inputs (sensors) and outputs (actuators), due to 433 MHz radio-frequency transceivers and ESP8266 wifi module.
< > As an experimental module during R&D phase, the OpenCV Library was implemented for image processing, allowing system self-assessment via NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) analysis.
< > The implementation of Open Source technologies, helped us speeding up deployment and reducing development costs by 3X.
< > Additive Manufacturing and other Digital Fabrication techniques such as 3D Modelling, 3D Printing, Laser Cutting and Engraving were used for prototyping a waterproofed case and accessories, improving functionality, safety and aesthetic, including the companies’ branding.           < >  The device is adaptable to multiple IoT applications, since inputs and outputs can be modified easily.
< > Tested, installed and monitored the system in multiple buildings and exhibitions in London, UK, such as Wellbeing Exhibition (2017) in The Building Centre (26 Store St, Fitzrovia, London WC1E 7BT, UK). For extended documentation, visit: https://www.behance.net/gallery/76585939/Living-Sense
