The Futa Pass or La Futa Pass (Italian: Passo della Futa) is a pass in the Emilian-Tuscan Apennines, at an elevation of 903 m (2,963 ft). It is located in the comune of Firenzuola, in the province of Florence. It separated the valleys of Mugello and of the Santerno River. It is crossed by the State Road 65 (strada della Futa) which connects Bologna to Florence
SS 65 it starts in Bologna and is one of the most important connections with Florence. 
Beginning from Piazza Santo Stefano from the center of the city with the path of the historic Via Santo Stefano and initially taking the name of "via Toscana" leaves southern side of the city in the Savena Discrict and then pass in the hills of the Appennino throught Pianoro, Loiano, Monghidoro and enters Tuscany afterwards crossing the Passo della Raticosa who is famous as a Motorcyclist spot with its chalet. 

Still touches Covigliaio then passes the Passo della Futa (A German military cemetery was created nearby in the 1950s). Descending the other side of the Tuscan Apennines arrives at Barberino del Mugello, pass San Piero a Sieve continues in the municipalities of Vaglia, skimming the town, crosses the hamlet of Pratolino and after it flanks Fiesole in what is called "Via Bologna", arriving in the northern part of the Tuscanian Capital.
