Canova notebook is a very good example of Cometti’s design approach and process.
Valerio Cometti and his team couldn’t simply restyle the aesthetic of a notebook, but felt obliged to deeply rethink its function, its layout, up to the way users approach to it. Having already come up in 2006 with a dual screen layout, Valerio Cometti with his first generation concept has literally stirred both the specialists and the press.
Cometti has broadened and enhanced the versatility of the initial concept, adding a very distinctive design and a very refined mechanism (Valerio Cometti’s international patent), that provides a double axis rotation of the second touch-sensitive screen.
With the Canova project, Valerio Cometti keeps challenging himself and his team developing an increasingly broader range of products: proving that good design doesn’t mean just pretty shapes, but has to deliver real innovation, as well.
