My fellow fulltime Graphic Design faculty member and I often marvel at how there is a certain kind of student that just settles for the status quo... every time. There's nothing like the feeling of giving a student some honest, heartfelt, critical advice then having them say, "Well, I like it." Then they hand it in and go back to seeing what's going on on Facebook.
This hand-cut card honors those beacons of mediocrity and attitude for my colleague's birthday. It felt great to craft something by hand and go through several #11 blades again! Copy inside reads, "Your birthday, that is" in hand lettering.
