I worked for many years as an Architectural Technician before embarking on my BSc in Multimedia Programming and Design and my MA in E‐Learning Design & Development.
Responsibilities as an Architectural Technician -
• Carried out site surveys
• Prepared and submitted planning applications
• Developed sketch designs into full working drawings
• Produced tender drawings and documentations
• Prepared and submitted fire certificate applications
Software tools used -
• AutoCAD
• MicroStation
General steps involved in each project -
• Meet with client
• Site survey
• Produced layout sketch design proposals
• Produce planning application package
• Obtain planning permission
• Produce tender and working drawings
• Employ building contractor
• Oversee project to completion
