"A shark can detect one part of blood in 100 million parts of water"

This was created for the quote "a shark can detect one part of bood in 100 million parts of water" similar to the stylr of Sarah King

Then I developed it with a background and text. i kept the text hand drawn so i could curve and shape it in a wave like formation

this version was printed on different layers. the shark alone was printed normally onto cartidge paper and then the text was printed onto tracing paper. i tried it this way to give the illustration more texture and also more depth 

This is a rough draft bearing in mind the Where's Wally look of searching for something.

This was then further developed and i incorporated the text from the previous shark design as my tutor told me it was a good typography and i should try keeping it or only changing it slightly. However this image is too dark and the typography is a strange colour and not arrange very well

This is the final design. I have lightened the shadow and edited the typography to make it more legible

When starting with the Bob marley quite i drew the outline in photoshop first 

I then created a digital collage by making my own watercolour marks and inks splats which i then scanned into photoshop and collaged together

To finish it off I created letter stamps for the quote "One good thing about music, when it hits, you feel no pain" and scanned them into photoshop and then cut them out of the dreadlocks
