PAR ET IMPAR – alike and unlike - is a working project of the artists and siblings Will and Louise Kempkes, based in Berlin, Germany. It consists of hand-painted porcelain plates, where each plate is painted individually but refers to other plates in a set. Together they form the frames of an animation that brings the individual pieces into continuous motion. All plates are crafted with the highest standards of modern porcelain production and are safe for food and dishwashers. 

 

Eating together is much more than just survival and essential calorie intake: It strengthens friendships, it brings together different people, joined in one place. These plates are a reminder that all participants of a meal are also an important part of the continuing conversation and interaction that happen while eating.

 

All elements of the branding were designed to allude to the idea of the repetitive animation: as such the logo is mirrored, the flyers come with 12 different motives and the catalog is small enough to be used as a flip book.
