Picture Lake........located in the northern Cascade range in northwest Washington state derives its name logically. Mount Shuksan rises in the background, creating a perfect, picturesque image. The following images were taken over a two hour time frame in late afternoon. The last image was taken when it was almost dark. I saw this same scene on a heavily overcast day and there was absolutely nothing worthy of taking a picture of. But, when the light is just right this scene becomes absolutely magical to experience.
