Pratt Posters - Peer Advisors

#NowYouKnow

The Now You Know events were created to inspire Pratt Institute's student body to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Many of Pratt's undergraduate residents live in facilities that do not offer private kitchens, and so they may find it difficult to make a healthy
meal at home. In addition, many students do not have the time to cook and clean, especially during midterms.

Peer Advisors coordinate a three-part series to benefit Pratt student wellness:
The first of these events, Healthy Recipes, teaches students that they have an arsenal of tools in their residential halls so that they can prepare delicious and healthy meals, even when they are budgeted for time. To advertise this, a spectrum of greens, reds, purples, and browns were employed; colors of the main food groups, which invoke the sense of appetite.

Meditation Minutes seeks to teach students that meditating, even in small amounts, can do wonders to de-stress and improve immune function, which becomes especially important during the winter months in New York. A mountaineous
landscape with cyan hues was chosen because both inspire an emotional response of calm and assurance.

Succulent Gardens, the last of these events, is a hands-on program that teaches students how to take care of their own
plants, grow an urban garden, and to raise awareness for sustainability. To produce this visually, the colors green, red,
and blue were used in order to portray a sense of calmness and responsibility that come from responsible gardening.
