Transformations with Textiles

The idea of making this accessory was to construct a 3 dimensional geometric piece resembling the growth pattern of plants like the crassula family. My experiments led me to exploring origami and I came across a flower called dahlia which belongs to the same family. My initial intentions extended from origami with paper to origami with fabric. Choosing the right fabric and  construction of the final form were very interesting choices to make. This accessory aims to to sit on a shoulder and can also be put to alternative uses. It is intricately designed, combining Craft with Art and Design. It is durable and almost stirdy but is to be handled gently. Screen printing on Paper silk, diffusing Bakram(diffuser), heating and ironing, and were the processes involved.
