The First National Festival of LGBT History

Creating a look for an historic LGBT event that was both playful and blunt.
The festival was part of LGBT History Month 2015, and was the first of its kind in the UK. It brought together a fantastic range of speakers and events.

It was a challenge to create an identity that was striking and encompassed such a long name!

We brought it to life with an historic style with a little vintage festival flavour and a vibrant friendly pink that packed a punch across all the print and digital materials, contrasting occasionally with more sombre black and white imagery.
As part of the festival we produced a series of posters for a theatre production called A Very Victorian Scandal. It was divided into three performances, The Raid, The Press and The Trial.

The production was produced by Pagelight (Stephen M Hornby) and starred the wonderful Anna Phylactic — seen on each of the posters!

Photography used is by Nicholas Chinardet and Daniel Mee.
