This program, created by the US Department of State, promotes cultural exchange and community service that was conducted in collaboration with ECMH as part of the initiative of 100 Thousand in the Americas.

The American Youth Leadership Program is a leadership training exchange program for U.S. high school students and adult mentors.
In this opportunity, the U.S. participants traveled to El Salvador to gain firsthand knowledge of a different culture and to examine globally significant issues, such as the environment and climate change, food security and nutrition, the role of the media, immigration, and science and technology.
This program was fully funded by the U.S. Department of State - Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and organized and implemented by the Institute for Training & Development in cooperation with Escuela de Comunicación Mónica Herrera.

As part of the American Youth Leadership Program in El Salvador, we scheduled an interactive session with the students of Fútbol Forever Foundation. Here you can watch the best moments of it.
Our students had the opportunity to go to a public elementary school in Comasagua, El Salvador. Here we collaborated with Rotary International to bring needed supplies for the students; it was an amazing experience for both salvadoran and american students to share and to know more about the similarities and differences in each educational system.
As part of our program in El Salvador, we had the chance to distract a little and to know El Salvador a bit more by doing some touristic visits. One of these was in Santa Ana Town; Santa Ana is the second largest city of El Salvador and a very important one in terms of agriculture and coffee production.
The American Youth Leadership Program is a three-week exchange program where students travel abroad to gain firsthand experience of foreign cultures and to examine significant issues. We had the opportunity to learn more about El Salvador culture, its people, the educational system, how NGOs are working to prepare the future generations and much more.
