EHRENTRIBÜNE experimental project

The Ehrentribüne is a place that makes it possible to escape the rush of one of the busiest shopping streets of Europe, a non-attraction in an area where everything is worth seeing, an auditorium for the old city street that became nothing but a nice scenery for the consumption.
When sitting on the stand the participant of the constantly discount- and landmark-hunting, consume-oriented crowd transforms to a watcher and thus an outsider. However, the observer also becomes an observed object and therefore enters a constant interplay. In this way the focus — that has been laid on the scenery and the goods so far — is driven on the consuming mass, in order to lead people to another level of consciousness.

The project is the outcome of a two-week experimental workshop at which the participants were searching for alternatives to consumption in the old city center of Munich by means of sketches, collages and models
