Not everything you see in black and white makes sense.
For one of our University projects, we were asked to create a typeface based on an Art Director. I was given Tim Burton. After conducting a lot of research on Tim Burton, looking into his films and him as a person, I found a lot of inspiring information. A lot of Burton’s films were created with a deeper meaning that maybe some people didn't recognise. As Burton was growing up he had a lot of troubles that resulted in his interesting and 'out there' films. I wanted to create a typeface based on Tim Burton as a person. Using white space to represent missing elements of Burton’s life and using stripes (something he loves) and obscure type, was used to represent Burtons life.
