Simple Solutions was a collaborative project that provided resources and kits to local restaurants to help them be less wasteful and, in many cases, save money. Prior to executing the design solution much time was dedicated to gathering information and researching the environmental impact of the restaurant industry. Because of the wealth of resources available and the need for action in regards to waste in the restaurant community, we were motivated to work with local restaurants in effort to help them minimize their environmental impact. We created a kit that was packaged in to-go containers that offered stats on waste and waste prevention, as well as links to more information on this issue. A special thanks to my fellow designers and partners; Matt Albert, Sara Hassani, Ryan McFarlin, and Shannon Torphy, without you all this design would not be what it is.
The kit for Simple Solutions is packaged within a togo box designed with facts about restaurants and the environment on the outside of it. It's aim is to help spread knowledge about how to save money and the environment when it comes to running a restaurant. It has, with in it, a pamphlet with facts about restaurant waste, a flyer with a usb attached to it that has resources on it to get the ball rolling for saving money and the environment for any restaurant owner, a Simple Solution business card, and some sticker to help spread the word about Simple Solutions.
