Lacquer painting is a traditional form of Vietnamese fine art and it is going to be considered as national painting. As an artist who has been working on lacquer for about 30 years - Phan Ngoc - also my father - has involved and experienced with lacquer by his fully passion, love and also painful when he losted his way. Seeing what he's been doing and really appreciate that I would like to tell his story by my design skill through these products that you are going to see below as well as some of the art works in his collection that I took photos.
This story includes 02 videos (one is about The story of why did he chose lacquer as his career and how could he keep his passion with lacquer until now & another is about what he does/the process of making a completed painting), 01 lacquer process book (step by step), 01 book of famous lacquer painting photos that I took in Ho Chi Minh City Fine Art Museum in Sep 2015 and 01 package of photos of my father art works.
Please note that, the process of making lacquer painting showed in this project was done by my father own way which might not be 100% the same as the other artist since every single artist has their own creativity for their paintings as long as they could keep the basic characters of traditional lacquer.
