I recently engaged myself in a photographic portrait project, describing the evolution of italian society.
The whole world is an ethnic mixture, because cultures come in contact with others, and cannot withstand the constant exchanges and mutual influences. Does global multiculturalism catch Italy unprepared? My project stands for the will to step further the issues of massive immigration and integration in Italy, revealing the growing reality of multiethnic people among the italian society components, which have been silently ignored until now.
Let’s pretend to have overcome the problems related to the recent massive immigration. We must realize that we are already on to subsequent generations, and have the imperative to learn to be with others and open up to their presence and the transformation they bring. The Creoles are symbols of the evolution of society in the world and exemplify how to survive in diversity and multiculturalism.
The project thus far has been internationally exhibited twice as well as published on a National Geographic Italia issue.
