Re-imagined fairytale of the story, Hansel and Gretel, set during the Edo period (1603 – 1868) in Japan. The candy house is redesigned as a traditional Japanese wagashi sweets house with elements inspired by Edo architecture. The technique, composition and color palette are inspired by ukiyo-e landscape woodblock prints.

Potato Fry Eaters
The illustration combines recognizable people, place and object to convey a message. Used people from Vincent Van Gogh’s Potato Eaters (1885) in a contemporary McDonald’s setting, eating French fries. It conveys a social commentary on the current diet for people of humble means.
