Expanding Landscape

Expanding Landscape was commissioned by a private client and has been featured in several gallery shows, including Around the Flat Show at Spring Gallery in DUMBO, NY, Craft Texas at the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft, Texas National 2010 at Houston's Peel Gallery, and Celebrate Texas Art at the Williams Tower, Houston.
 
Made from a continuous piece of mylar, cuts in the material allow the sheet to open up into a three dimensional landscape. This landscape investigates the interaction between the two-dimensional and three-dimensional worlds. The piece is both a translation of a shadow into a physical form as well as a structure that generates complex shadows as an integral element of the complete work.
