TIBET-CHINA CONFLICT
Illustration and Editorial Design
Tibet has been occupied and ruled over by China since 1951 in "a calculated and systematic strategy aimed at the destruction of their national and cultural identities" (14th Dalai Lama, 1997). Today the Tibetan National Anthem, known as Gyallu, is strictly forbidden by the People`s Republic of China, also in Tibetan areas.
This illustration and editorial project is dealing with the interpretation of the hymn referring to the current political situation. Furthermore the use of traditional symbols and the explanation in the glossary contributes to a better comprehension of the Tibet-China-Conflict.
