"Skrawki" (eng. Snippets, shreds) is a tale of the oldest generation of fans at the Służewiec
Horse Racing Track, and of an old Warsaw that is passing away before our very eyes.
It is a record of the atmosphere, the mood of the place created by the heroes portrayed in
the photos. A small community of people living, just like Hanta in Hrabal's "Too Loud a Solitude",
at the junction of two eras. The post-war age of analogue, Communist times, and the era of the
free market, the Internet and digitization.
"You can see just the gambling part of the races. What I noticed there was a huge passion of elderly people who, instead of sitting in front of the TV, meet by the track every weekend. They create a microclimate that I tried to capture in my frames."
These photographs are an affirmation of old age, the coming to terms with the natural cycle of life, at a time when by glorifying youth, all we do is harm to ourselves.

The photography book was released in May 2015.
