For an personal projekt I designed a witch. Her character should be old, wise and gentle and not scary, like in the fairy tales.

First, I started with some thumbnails. I wanted to find a shape thats uniqe and reads good. I tryed some skinny shapes but they didn’t worked so well because I want a witch that’s warm hearted like a ganny. I moved on with some round shapes and they worked a lot better! I decided for the upper right shape and did some more sketches.

I love to put a lot of details in my drawing. Because she is a witch and brews all kind of stuff I gave her some tools and bags with all kind of berrys, roots and leaves and some cutting tools on her belt.
