Rethymno postcards & postage stamps

Concept design
I was asked to design a serie of illustrations about city of Rethymnon in order to create different postcards and postage stamps. The idea was impressive for me as it was the place where i was grown up and with so memories with it the work was not only enjoyable but also funny and exciting.
So i picked up the main points, the most interesting and historical places of the town.
Rethymno is an old town situated in Crete, Greece, is a city of approximately 40,000 people.  It was built in antiquity (ancient Rhithymnaand Arsinoe), but was never a competitive Minoan centre.
It was, however, strong enough to mint its own coins and maintain urban growth. One of these coins is today depicted as the crest of the town with two dolphins in a circle
The city's Venetian-era citadel, the Fortezza, is one of the best-preserved castles in Crete
The Archaeological Museum of Rethymnon, located opposite the Fortezza. it hosts findings which highlight the diachronic quality of the Cretan culture from the Neolithic to Roman times.
Perivolia is one of the most beautiful beaches in the Mediterranean. This long sandy beach, 2.5km away from the town is actually a natural continuation of Rethymno beach. It is open on the north side and is exposed to the strong winds known as meltemia.
The Guora Gate is the main entrance of the Venetian city walls that protected the city of Rethymno
The Square of the 4 Martyrs in the centre of modern Rethymnon is named after the nearby church.
The lighthouse of the Venetian harbor of Rethymno is the second largest remaining Egyptian lighthouse in Crete, after the lighthouse of Chania harbor. It is built on the edge of the old sea wall of Rethymnon and it can be accessed very easily.
The small Venetian harbour and narrow streets. It's 13th-century Venetian mole which once protected the harbour. This small breakwater with its high wall managed to face the wild waves of the Cretan Sea and survive the battle unharmed
The Rimondi Fountain is located in the centre of the old town of Rethymnon. The Venetian governor J. Rimondi started the reconstruction of the current fountain in 1626 due to many towns on Crete suffered severe water shortages.
Thank you!
