I'm a big fan of Mike Rosenberg's music (he is better known as Passenger) and this year when I went to see his concert in Montreal at the Metropolis, I decided to try to sneak in my Nikon D800 (it worked!) in order to better capture my experience as I can't stand concert pictures taken off the camera's on the back of cellphones.
I quite enjoyed the cinematic lighting of this peticular moment of the show, even if it meant cranking up my ISO in order to capture it handheld. (I didn't have the luxury, the time or the space stuck in the crowd.) Shooting these shots in manual allowed me to capture the low key scenery of these moments.
The lighting at this moment of this moment was more even and allowed me to get in more details of the stage's background and of Mike's features.
