STUDY ON CUTLERY
Concept and shooting
These images were created as part of a study on polished materials, in this case, stainless steel.

One of the most difficult subjects to photograph is cutlery. It's finishing makes it act like a mirror, reflecting everything around it.
With these images I've tried to control all the reflections on the cutlery and at the same time keep the shapes perfectly defined by darkening the edges.

To add a little of contrast in terms of texture, I've used watercolor paper as a background, as it has a really interesting texture.
Final touches included color grading and some minor retouching on the background.
