Castel with the mighty Donjon, has been always considered for the most strategic point in Commune's defense system and therefore was heavily secured throughout each historical period of the Town. At reconstruction a Venetian tower has been presented within which core are the remains of the old Donjon tower from the time of queen Helen of Anjou.
The Cathedral St George and Piazza di S. Giorgi - Both Piazza and the Cathedral were occupied the most exposed terrain that is lean on the edge of the merely vertical cliff. Across the belfry and the Cathedral's portal, two Archbishopric palaces were erected with steep and narrow street that separates them, running down to the South gate.
South gate was erected around the door on south city perimeter which was formed out of the row of multistoried houses - solution tipical for the pore medieval communes. Behind the entrance tower a small chapel was built to provide saint's protection to the gate.
