Submerged highlights an event in my past and a moment in my life that has shaped the way I see the world.

When my friend pulled me out onto the shore that day I laid there gasping for air as the blood gushed out my head, slowly coming back to reality, however I returned to a world I no longer recognise a world where nothing else seemed to matter or measure up to the true beauty of life that we tend to dismiss.

I do believe that sin enters everyone at some point in your life where you get so caught up and consumed in your own little bubble with things that don't matter that you forget to take a second and breathe, and just admire the world and nature around you, to truly enjoy this life that was given to you. That moment for me tells a story of healing, cleansing and life portrayed through an experience I now hold so deeply. It is a story
of my "spiritual awakening."

“Sometimes you find yourself in the middle of nowhere, and sometimes, in the middle of nowhere, you find yourself.”
3 elements of my experience

Air [air] - “With blurred vision I laid on the shore that day gasping for air. Lights flickered like fireflies around me; the mumbling of faint voices surrounded me, waking me from my dream like state.”

Ocean [oh-shuh-n]  - “The Ocean had cleansed my mind. The world is transparent now. I see all the marks it leaves behind. I know now that only nature can purge us of the impressions. I surrender to the oceans purified renewing promise of a better life.”

Shore [ shawr, shohr] - “Leaving truth along the shore once submerged in the depths of my own content. To me at that moment I felt more alive then ever. “Sometimes you find yourself in the middle of nowhere, and sometimes, in the middle of nowhere, you find yourself.”

Metaphysical crystal properties and meanings

For many years a magical connection has existed between humans and gemstones and in this book I showed pictures of the crystals that where in the photoshoot along with copy of what the stone is and its healing powers. I have recently grown fond of healing stones, as each stone is made up of minute crystals, which emits energy. The colour of the stone aswell as its frequency can stimulate calmness, purification and healing towards a person.

Its indomitable supremacy unsettled me. Hypnotized by it's
encapsulating beauty, I submitted myself to the ocean.
Large bellowing waves came crashing down with unmatchable force before me.
I leaped onto the board to take the impending wave and instantaneously I was engulfed,
swallowed by the mighty force of the wave. It pulled me down to its base.
The sting of the cold water numbed my lifeless body.
My journey down ended with a knocking of my head
on a rock at the oceans bottom.
The blow to my head induced a quieting
of my mind. Sedated by the prevailing
water, I was in a state of pure ecstasy.
The moment was infinite, imprinted on my mind forever. I remember the elation of
my mind, the kiss of the water on my skin, the flood of warmth gushing out of my
head and the beautiful glistening of the sun through the surface of the water.
Time stood still.
Calmness and tranquility intoxicated me.
Cleansing my soul.
Looking up towards the sky an uplifting awakening light
came shining through, cleansing every part of me, I was
exposed and naked as the ocean returned me to a
world I no longer recognize, a world I can no longer comprehend.
I long to return to the depths of the
ocean where my soul felt most at home.
That moment was one of the most beautiful moments I had
ever seen. The image still lingers in my head.
The ocean had cleansed my mind.
The world is transparent now.
I see all the marks it leaves behind.
I know now that only nature can purge us of the impressions.
I surrender to the oceans purified
renewing promise of a better life.
With blurred vision I laid on the shore that day gasping for air. Lights flickered
like fireflies around me; the mumbling of faint voices surrounded me,
waking me from my dream like state.
Leaving truth along the shore once submerged in the depths of my own content.
To me at that moment I felt more alive then ever. “Sometimes you find yourself in
the middle of nowhere, and sometimes, in the middle of nowhere, you find yourself."
