In Regret the Artist represents a sad woman fighting with her struggles personified by the face of a child overlooking on her. Both the subjects seems to be mentally connected (by the use of the yellow color into and around their heads), like a recurring regret of what could have been but then didn't happen. The woman's body shape gets the appearance of a robot (in cubist style), as a symbolic alienation from the human nature into a different dimension where she may find protection. Mainly characterized by a Dramatic theme, the Work stands out for its strong descriptive intensity which generally causes a sincere emotional involvement of the viewer.
