The interpretation of the monument for the contemporary tourist. The perception of the Mausoleum of Galla Placidia from Grand Tour to nowadays.
My thesis was a long research work lasted one year and an half. I analyzed the methods of fruition, perception and documentation from the turists to the historical monuments. I began my analysis from the study of Grand Tour experience that gave birth to our contemporary concept of global tourism. My study has continued to expand around the theme of Ravenna city and in particular the Mausoleum of Galla Placidia. My final objective was to identify the problems and eventually alternatives to help improving the visiting experience. The fi nal presentation was shown through a cartoon that had the fuction to make clear to everyone all the research topics. This, augmented reality instruments and a new path designed following a more conscious historical view, were the main proposal tools gave to help improving the visit to the historical monument.
