The Black Hat Briefings are a series of highly technical information security conferences that bring together thought leaders from all facets of the information security world – from the corporate and government sectors to academic and even underground researchers. The environment is focused on the sharing of practical insights and timely, actionable knowledge, and unique in its ability to define tomorrow’s information security landscape.
Between briefings, security tool demonstrations and 4 days of deep technical training, Black Hat USA 2010 featured the absolute most content of any event in its 12 year history. We wanted to show our audience they would have to be a machine to process this much data.

Too much data for a human...
Using highly detailed digital image manipulation, I was able to take a plain stock photo of a female model and create a visually arresting image of a cybernetic eye being pulled apart by metal tongs, all behind a glass
Heads-Up Display: a cyborg waiting for her next command...
I worked closely with internal printshops and AV production houses to produce large scale event signage, including banners, wall wraps, entry and corridor signs, screen graphics for monitors, as well as keynote and speaker backgrounds.

Advertising, conference programs, booklets, challenge coins, and exclusive merchandise
USA 2010 was truly the most intense Black Hat event I’ve been a part of, in terms of production and deliverables. In addition to a series of I was responsible for creating a 32-page conference book, a separate special event booklet, a detachable fold out feedback form with detachable bookmark, coupon and contest form.
I was also charged with the task of creating an all new special product: a challenge coin. These were military inspired Black Hat coins that featured the well known Black Hat agent on one side in front of a ragged cityscape, and the signature stressed eye from the USA creative piece.
