1.)  http://www.photoshopessentials.com/photoshop-text/text-effects/ghostly-blur/

2.)  http://www.photoshopessentials.com/photoshop-text/text-effects/text-path-brush/
I learned that I have to make sure that I double check the brush I want to use for the stroke before applying it.
3.)  http://alfoart.com/extremely_glossy&shiny_tex_effect_1.html

4.)  http://www.tutorial9.net/tutorials/photoshop-tutorials/text-effect-quickie-moon-shine-text-effect/
I learned that instead of selecting the text with the magic wand and then click the gradient, which would be a hassle, I could use gradient overlay
5.)  http://planetphotoshop.com/dot-cutout-paper-text-effect.html
I learned that the curve tool helps adjust the color tone of the image.
6.)  http://planetphotoshop.com/crystal-text-effect.html
I learned that at the end, I shouldn't over shine the image because it wouldn't look as realistic as it should be and the lighting would be inaccurate.

7.)  http://textuts.com/simple-bokeh-text-effect/
I learned that turning on color dynamics of brush properties and choosing two colors as foreground and background, there would be a wider range of colors than anticipated.

8.)  http://www.photoshopessentials.com/photoshop-text/text-effects/turning-text-into-gold-with-photoshop/
I learned that you can duplicate a layer by dragging the layer that is needed to be copied to the new layer icon near the bottom right corner.
9.)  http://www.photoshopessentials.com/photoshop-text/text-effects/gel/
I learned that by adjusting the outer/inner glow and outer/inner shadow, I would be able to make them work together to have that shiny gel effect.
10.)   http://design.tutsplus.com/tutorials/create-a-layered-glowing-text-effect--psd-203
I learned that I can make a custom pattern by making a new document that is small and adjust however I want, then save it by clicking on edit and define pattern.
