100 Years of Hydro — Centenary Exhibition
Hydro Tasmania was planning a touring exhibition for their centenary but had nowhere to show it. That's where the concept for a pop-up show inside a shipping container emerged. Based on the huts early workers lived in, its form developed into a futuristic power cell pulsing a green glow, a time machine appearing out of thin air, a time capsule of the last 100 years of Hydro. Sitting along side it are large light boxes and information archways that resemble parts of a machine or turbine. Looking completely out of place it captures the eye, it draws you in, mashing the past, present and future together. The rest is history – literally.
