Astronauts, and their robotic dog AMME, search for solutions to save a dying Earth by searching on Mars, only to have the mission go terribly awry.

As a junior draftsperson I undertook drawing up the flight deck for their spacecraft. Drawn in 2D AutoCad.
 

This drop down screen was 3D modelled by Sergie Chadilof. Coming from an Industrial Design background, when I started drawing this up I wanted to specify material thickness and indicate how it might be constructed, but I was told to draw only what the camera sees.Material and construction methods would be worked out in the workshop.

 

This is one of the biggest things to have changed over the years. With the advances in computer technology, the Art Department is now able to assist construction by providing 2D files for laser cutting and engraving, and 3D files for CNC milling and 3D printing.
