Different colored shrink wrap can be used to create gift baskets for the holiday season.

The two baskets on the left will be used as Halloween baskets and one on the right used for a Christmas basket.

For the Halloween basket we will use orange shrink film. Insert the basket inside the film. Close the sealing bar to create the first seal.

This picture shows the basket after the initial seal has been made.

Rotate the product and make the last seal to enclose the basket.

After heat is applied to the shrink wrap, the film will pull tight to hold products in place.

Repeat with the red or green film for the Christmas basket.

Make the second seal to enclose the basket.

After both seals are made, apply heat with the heat gun.

The finished baskets should firmly hold contents in place.

For this project we used orange and red shrink film with a 13" I Bar shrink wrap system. The system comes with a heat gun to apply heat to the film after the seals are made. We chose Halloween themed baskets and a Christmas themed basket with a variety of goodies to enclose inside.

 

The colored shrink wrap serves as a barrier from exterior elements. It also keeps products within the basket in place during transport. Everything can be aquired for under $350. Depending on the size of the baskets being wrapped, several hundred baskets can be made with the initial investment.
