ThinkVision T-Series Monitors
2014

I co-designed ThinkVision's latest line of seven mainstream monitors. The project was led by Brian Wallace, under guidance from David Hill and Richard Sapper. I contributed to the form of the monitor head, created the CAD for the monitors, reviewed the tooling samples, and approved the production versions.

I shot the photos shown here.

The monitor can pivot 90 degrees into portrait mode.
The monitor stand was designed mainly by Brian Wallace with guidance from David Hill and Richard Sapper.

The T2424z and T2224z models include the integrated webcam shown here, with a totally hack-proof physical privacy shutter.
For desktop setups with hard-to-reach ports, the T Series monitors offer integrated audio and USB connections.

The vented area on the back of the monitor needed 3 degree draft angles on each side. These draft angles threatened to mar the parallel venting running along the top surface by cutting the outermost vent fins into strange tapering shapes. To solve this, instead of using parallel venting, I oriented the vent fins in a radial pattern, so that the leftmost vent fin is aligned with the left bumped-out side, which was drafted 3 degrees. The angle of the vent fins gradually changes from left to right, so that the rightmost vent fin is parallel to the right side- none of the vent fins are actually parallel to each other. This enables the draft angles while maintaining the impression of parallel venting.
See the T Series monitors here on the Lenovo site.
