Themes, themes and themes!
For all Nokia mobile phones you can think about! During my first few years allocated at Nokia Head Office I was responsible for customizing themes for so many different devices... looking back it still delights me, It was so much learning and fun. High-end and low-end devices, different screen sizes and operational systems, each software had your visual "tricks" (if I can say that), in a few months of high demand we were already mastering Carbide UI Symbian for S40 and S60, talking to Carbide developers in order to improve our tool, apart of helping out people from all over other Nokia sites regarding themes.

Our team for this project consisted of only two designers, me and Milena Lopes and one tester engineer, together we toke care of all customization requirements for key mobile operators in Latin America and Europe such as Telefonica, America Movil, TIM, Vivo, and also Orange, Personal, Movilnet, Entel, Digicel, Unefon, Tigo, Kolbi. Together we created themes with quality assurance and such consistency that reduced the time of approval of each variant software fastening mobile phone manufacture.

Icons, Icons, Icons
Some themes also included a few customized icons. It might sound like something simple, but every item inside your mobile phone has its impact in its time to market and I believe they deserve a few lines here. When it comes to icons in PNG and specially in SVG format, external designers appeared to have some trouble understanding its technical restriction. Some of the icons we received were not adapted for mobile SVG format... I created tutorials on how to do them properly and even went to a few places to explain personally :) ... but still... Assisting Customization managers from Latin America and Europe brought me a lot of icon-emergencies to deal with and I was pleased to help. Apart of re-creating most of them in the correct format, which I love doing by the way, I was the author of a few of them too. Bellow you see a set of "Claro Ideas" and Vivo Icons, in the left side there is the original version and my propose to adapt them to the latest Nokia iconography canvas pattern is in the right side (the right column of each set).
