The final colorway ... it still amazes me that after all the variations the winning color combo was almost identical to the first draft.
In the footwear community there are many places that are go to spots for sneaker news deals and talk. From NSB to ISS to NikeTalk, there are many forums online ranging from the specific to the broad. One of these is the Nike Dunk SB Group on facebook (NDSBG) which focuses solely on the appreciation of Nike SB Dunks and the rest of the SB (Skate Boarding) family.
Having been an active member for longer than i care to remember i was one day commissioned by the group's Administrators and creators to design an NDSBG T-shirt with a graphic that represented the group.
I first started conceptualizing some ideas and had a free hand artist friend of mine sketch me some samples themed around the sneaker head terms "neck breaking" an "heel drag". But eventually those were replaced by the concept of typographically writing out the group's initials in the silhouette of the iconic shoe it was named after along with their saying "WDYWT" on the tongue tag/label (What Did You Wear Today).
The color ways however were as diverse as Nike's 05' - 10' SB collection.

The Eureka moment
The first Draft
The original color way concept was to be "facebook" themed
Then we tried playing around with the different color schemes of iconic SB releases from left to right (Facebook, Decks, Oceanics, Sea Crystals, Loons, De La Souls, Gucci or RESN, Send Helps)
