In 2015 I worked with Dublin’s Chester Beatty Library in creating a series of family activity trails for young visitors at the museum. Designed for three different age groups, each trail invites families to explore a unique collection and introduces them to many exciting treasures within the Library’s Western, Islamic and East Asian Collections.
Each trail allows for families to visit the Museum at their own pace and each eight-page guide offers a diverse range of specially designed puzzles, games and drawing activities based on the collection.
This project involved creating almost one hundred unique games and puzzles for a young audience and it was an exciting opportunity to create a range of illustrations based on the Museum's rich collection.
The character of Finn serves as a trusty guide for intrepid adventurers. He helps young visitors gain a greater understanding of world cultures and religious traditions in a fun and engaging way.
This project forms part of a long-standing collaboration I have had with the Library’s Education Services. Since 2008 I have worked with their Head of Education on a diverse range of projects including workshops, community outreach programmes and earlier editions of these activity trails.
