“Oh, I wish it could be Christmas"

Oh you gotta love a tight deadline, it’s great for concentrating the mind. With 24 hours in hand, I set out with a big project to do. The project consisted of a takeover of all advertising within the Metro newspaper for my client O2. Showcasing O2′s collection of beautiful mobile phones at Christmas is never a problem but trying to make it interesting and engaging is a different story.
The solution was remarkably simple, using the theme of christmas we daisy chained the adverts together using the words of the famous christmas song “Oh, I wish it could be christmas” by English glam rock band the Blizzards. This united the complete series and gave it a cohesive idea with which to wrap it all around.
The takeover picked up a solid Second runner up spot at the 2007 Metro Global Creative Awards in Helsinki.
