For this project, I was in yet another typography class. We were asked to pick a piece of paper from a hat, giving us a classification of type to study. Then, within that classification, we were asked to pick our favorite typeface. I was given "modern" style typography and chose Didot. I really enjoyed how it was not just straight lines, where Firmin Didot could have kept a line straight, he sometimes chose to curve it, adding elegance and sophistication (case and point, the lowercase t. So gorgeous ). Plus, it was a good transition from the old style and traditional typefaces that were common during that time period. Additionally, since Didot was French, I wanted to add a subtle French-style pattern in the background, adding to the elegance of the typography.
