Whilst on work experience at StrawberryToo, I was asked to develop a brand for a new whisky company based in Hull. It had to appeal to the female audience and break away from the traditional idea that whisky is a mans drink, without being too 'girly'. I have since worked into the project and expanded it into a distillery, that distills both whisky and gin.

 

I chose to call the whisky company 'Dock Street Distillery' as this is the street where whisky was first ever distilled in Hull and provides a story, something that my research found appeals to the female audience because of the emotional connection. 

 I created my own hand drawn typeface for use in the logo and large scale advertising. Based on the typeface Gotham, this hand crafted style that continues throughout the branding should attract males and females alike.
