Ashley McQuaid - Stylist

This is an ongoing branding project for the wonderful Ashley McQuaid. After some discussions and rough sketches, we decided to go with a fluid typographic mark rather than something sturdy. A scissor icon was added to resemble a slight "A" character. The beginning sketches of a monogram were put into process, but all in all proved to be to rigid for Ashley's style. I visited the studio where Ashley has her chair in order to photograph the environment where she works. I wanted to utilize these photos throughout the branding process to help with the experience. The images I highlighted are the washing station, Ashley's chair/station and product section, mainly showing REDKEN products being that is her specialty.
Here is the unused monorgam concept, sketch to vector for Ashley.
We then decided to move into a more fluid direction shown below.
Ashley recently came to me in hopes of starting up a simple website. In our past discussions, we knew print menus alone would not be enough when thinking about new customers, but were not ready to begin anything digital just yet. However, here we have the beginning workings of what will be Ashley's new site!
