Procrastinating is the malady of modern society. Putting off things because there are apparently more important tasks to do in order to ignore a specific deadline. It is a very common pheno- menon since Roman culture and the rise of Christianity. „Procrastination. A malady“ should give an insight into the syndrome and terms “procrastinating“ and “procrastination“ as it started to appear historically, has been researched psychologically and what consequences it may cause in daily life. Furthermore, this little book will give instructions on how to prevent humans from procrastinating too much. The purpose is to understand why people are very likely to postpone urgent tasks and challenges that are highly important to their future and life. The booklet is designed in a more or less flexible grid and layout, using abstract motives/symbols, that should give a distracting reaction to the reader. As the author and designer of the book and workpiece decided as well to take control by herself and not let the machine or any rules distract her by enjoying the flexibility of her layout. Workpiece: The book is accompanied by a specifically designed planner for the target group of procrastinators. The specialty about it is, that it neither has days or dates nor any structured guides that usually other planners go with. This planner should only enhance the thought on oneself’s procrastination. As organization exists for the target group more in an illusionary thought should the procrastinator take an active control about his/her own procrastination. Thought-provoking impulses that stand out typographically, will accompany him/her to decide by himself when and if he/she wants to reach a goal using control. Read Less
