#LAXASKEN Food Packaging Design

A packaging specially designed for Swedish tapas served from a food truck. The concept highlights smart and fancy takeaway, social media communication and high quality food cooked with ingredients of local origin.

The main package is designed for Swedish tapas and is divided into four serving sections in order to easily distinguish the different tapas. There is a perforated division between each section which makes it possible to adapt the size of the package depending on how much the customer wishes to order. The perforation makes it possible for the customer to split the package and eat one dish at a time, or share with a friend. Inside the package there is a barrier that prevents the liquid food, such as sauces, from bleeding through the cardboard. The corners in each section of the package are also designed to be as dense as possible.

The packages sliding cover allows the diner to open one serving box at a time, thus keeping the other sections warm and protected from the environment. The sliding cover runs through rails of carton board on top of the packaging, which makes it steady and easy to hold while you’re eating. The advantage of a separate cover and the inclined shape of the package is that they are stackable when empty. This simplifies both shipping and storage, which is good for the environment and for the limited space of a food truck.
