The Gaston Regional Chamber's event planner wanted a "fresh and funky" design for their annual gala. She wanted a design that would attract attention and stand alone as art work. The design needed to represent the community of Gaston County. The G is the same G the Chamber is currently using and I filled the negative space with the history, attractions, and businesses the Chamber supports. In the design there is the White Water Center, Crowders Mountain, Schiele Museum with Rex, Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens, holly leaf and train, Fire Stone Mill, Gaston College, cherry blossom, and down town Gastonia. The cotton, blue grass, and the family are all symbols of Gaston County's rich heritage. The swirls, lines, and colors make this piece not only a logo but a work of art as well.
This piece will be used for all advertising of the event, and the original will be auctioned off during the Annual Celebration. The original created by hand with water color paints and ink. The piece is 18x24 and is on professional grade 140 lb water color paper and acid free.
