The Franklin Institute Awards program is a week-long, yearly event that culminates in a ceremony awarding several nominated scientists for outstanding achievements in their field. The program was founded in 1824, honoring incredible scientists ranging from Albert Einstein to Stephen Hawking. This year the program was redesigned with the clear objective of making it feel prestigious, yet modern, within the budget constraints of previous years. In order to meet these goals, we created a new, cleaner logo, initiated the use of Neenah Environment recycled paper for all printed materials, and maintained a strong design consistency across brochures, publications, banners, and digital signage. One particular challenge was to make sure this re-design felt like it belonged to the Franklin Institute. In order to do this, we incorporated an image of our Ben Franklin National Memorial, as well as the Institute's mission statement throughout printed materials, and utilized the Institute's standard font (Gotham). This allows for the Awards program to relate to the Institute's brand, without the need to constantly repeat the Institute's name or logo throughout the various materials. Read Less
