Cover art for Escape to Na Pali: a painting by Kaitlin with some tweaking by myself. We wanted something otherworldly, yet deliberately not "gamey". Designing the cover wraparound was the hardest part of the project: we ran a test print with Blurb before releasing the print edition publicly.
Page layout design. This was radically different from Five out of Ten, which is digital-only, so there's no need to consider ink levels, bleeds etc. Designing my first book layout was challenging, but so fun and rewarding!
Here's how the design looks in print - this is the hardcover edition, with full-colour images. The paperback edition uses grayscale images: these were created with custom colour profiles, rather than desaturating the original images. Aside from that difference, the PDF download is the same basic format as the printed book.
