    A few features come together to form the downtown Cairo Character; among those is the dark green iron fence with golden ornaments. The fence was first built late 90s/early 2000s, to limit the movement of people and prevent them from trespassing specific areas. 15 years later, the visual of the fence in itself has become a social restraint to the citizens of Cairo. The heavy looking fence demarcates certain areas where people are locked in what looks like a zoo. My project titled Green Limitation, involves placing a copy of one cell from the fence in a public area to control the movement through and around the 1-celled fence. I will attempt to incorporate resonance of human insurgents such as the scribbles, torn posters, inscriptions and traces mimicking the actual fence of people attempting to trespass the fence.
