For the 2012 SIC Float was honored to again to show off the very best of the Kinect sensor on behalf of Microsoft.  For truly unforgettable real time on-stage experience, Float created a fully immersive 3D demonstration of all current Kinect SDK features as part of a fictional “holodeck” environment. The purpose of the interactive demonstration was to explain, educate, and most importantly exite a non-technical audience of digital agencies about the opportunities for interactive experiences using the Kinect sensor, and Windows 8 operating system.
The experience begins with an ambient screen saver that expands and tracks the user’s ambient skeletal and depth information within a cool digital puzzle pattern.  Upon issuing a voice command, the digital membrane blends away to reveal the user’s video image projected mapped using “greenscreen” technology into a fully 3D “holodeck” space. The effect is that the speaker is immediately transported in real time into fictional 3D space, and able to begin a demonstration of all the attributes of the Kinect sensor environment, within a content rich environment using gesture and voice only to conjure up and amazing assortment of interactive scenes and objects that only a Kinect and a game engine environment can do. The demonstration also included Float specific technology around green screen mapping and real time skeletal, voice, and GPS analysis.
