Starlog Cartoons 1995

Starlog #212 March 1995

Duncan Macleod is the main character in "Highlander: The Series," an immortal who's only weakness, like all immortals, is having his head cut off. The alien here is a Martian from "The War of the Worlds."
Starlog #211 February 1995

The two short story collections referred to here are "R is for Rocket" (1962) and "S is for Space" (1966)
Starlog #213 April 1995
Starlog #215 June 1995

Based on the TV show "Star Trek: Voyager" in which a starship is lost in space and tries to find its way home.
Starlog #216 July 1995

Who remembers "Weebles wobble but they won't fall down"?
Starlog #217 August 1995

The boys from "Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure" get busted by Jean-Claude Van Damme's "Timecop."
Starlog #218 September 1995

A cartoon sparked by the Arnold Schwarzenegger movie, "Last Action Hero" (1993)

This one was actually submitted in August 1994 so it sat in the editor's files for a year.
Starlog #218 September 1995

This cartoon was based on the television series "SeaQuest DSV" that ran from 1993 to 1996. Here we see Piccolo, the crew member who volunteered to have gills surgically attached so he can breathe underwater, hanging out with Darwin the dolphin in his tank. Also referenced is the television series "Man from Atlantis" (1976-77) which was one of my all-time favorites as a kid. I watched a lot of reruns of "Flipper" as well.
Starlog #220 November 1995

Based on the novel "The Ship Who Sang" by Anne McCaffrey. The ship design is from the cover of the 1985 edition, which is probably the one in my library. The novel was originally published in 1969.
